Renaming North

Arthur Tomasotta wants it to be "North John Tivnan"
"it'd be an honor for him"
The mayor comments that the process has been that these are referred to the school site council.
Site council at North has reported back that they would like to keep the name as North.
"There could be some other way of honoring Mr. Tivnan in that building."
O'Connell recommends asking the site council if there is some other place in the building that might honor him.

As an alum I would prefer to see it retain the name North High. It may not be the building that I went to school in, but by keeping the name it keeps the continuity to the alumni. Change the name and the school we graduated from disappears. There would be nothing to connect us to the new school.

Mr Tivnan was the lector at St Stephen's Church when I was a kid. We all knew he was. He was very active in the church and when we attended CCD he was there in the building. Perhaps naming the auditorium or the gymnasium after Mr Tivnan would be an appropriate honor from the WPS. The city does have Tivnan Field named in honor of Mr Tivnan too.
