Recess four times a day

The pilot in Fort Worth of kindergarten and first grade students getting four 15-minute recess periods a day has been getting a bit of press. While this is a start, note that Liink is a broader program beyond that of only the additional recess.  They're also working to:
  1. Increase the amount of physical activity/recess in the schools
  2. Create equality across content areas; add ethics/character development as a content area
  3. Assess students differently (assess with developmental tracking instead of grades twice a semester); less standardized testing – more local control
  4. Restructure the school day (less hours in classroom for K-6 students; extra time in play/creativity)
