Not spending enough time on science

...or enough training on math, are among the conclusions of this survey of elementary school teachers.
The bit that jumped out at me:
Another issue the report identifies was how little time science gets in the early grades. Averaged across a week, it amounts to 19 minutes a day in grades K-3, compared with about 90 minutes for reading/language arts and 54 for math.
Right, because (as I heard recently) "we'll get back to science and social studies after MCAS."
