If a budget is passed in School Committee...

and there isn't any mention of it anywhere in the press, did it really happen?
Recall that there were articles covering the various sections of the city budget when the City Council was hearing it.
Yet the Worcester Public Schools budget, all 3/5 of the city budget worth, was passed by the School Committee on Thursday night...
to nary a whisper in the press.

Sad to say, but the majority of the voters simply don't care about the school department except to bemoan the amount of money spent. Unless there's dirt to be dug the newspaper is typicall silent on schools.

Jim,
I'm not sure how much is the public and how much is the press. I do think it is a vicious circle, as it's hard to care about something that you know nothing about.
