Morning update from Superintendent Boone

This to the School Committee this morning:

Good morning!

Schools are open!!! After almost three weeks of snowstorms resulting in historic snowfall totals, schools are open today for the first time this week! We're hopeful that the forecast holds for the rest of the week so we will have three uninterrupted school days prior to February vacation. The total number of days schools have been closed this year is 9, with the last day of school now scheduled for June 25, 2015. We have begun development of options to address the late school closing date created by these closures, as well as contingency to address any other weather related closures that could impact the district through the rest of the winter. Once we receive information/guidance from DESE, we will finalize our recommendations and present to you for consideration.
