Charter schools looking to lift the cap...

...again.
This from the job posting from the MCPSA*:
In January, 2013 the MCPSA will launch a statewide grassroots campaign to raise the cap on Massachusetts charter schools. We seek an experienced campaign manager to join this exciting and empowering campaign.
Empowering for...?I guess I'll be putting miles in on the commuter rail again!
Responsibilities after the break:

 Collaborate with Executive Director and Deputy Director to implement campaign strategies to mobilize charter school parents, community leaders, and business supporters to become actively involved in advocating for charter school expansion.
Train, supervise and lead staff of campaign grassroots organizers in their efforts to mobilize charter supporters.
Lead outreach efforts and help build charter school alliances with parents, and business and community leaders
Participate in a statewide education reform coalition that includes business, parent and community groups that meet regularly to coordinate campaign efforts
Identify and recruit new groups of supporters to participate in a variety of advocacy activities including, but not limited to, community meetings, letter writing campaigns, canvassing and hosting legislative visits in schools.
Initiate, organize, supervise and actively participate in periodic phone banks, including obtaining and organizing volunteers.
Provide leadership in maintaining and building contact database
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Deputy Director.
Experience & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and traits:

Successful track record of leading grassroots political campaigns including hiring, training and supervising grassroots organizers.
Knowledge of and familiarity with Massachusetts political landscape.
Passion for school reform issues, community organizing and social justice. Familiarity with charter school issues strongly preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, both in writing and verbally, relaying complicated information in a user-friendly manner.
Strong technology skills including MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint and Social Media.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work independently, manage own work and time, and be accountable for performance.
Bilingual (Spanish preferred) highly desirable
Ability to work day, evening and some weekend hours
