Organizing in Worcester? WEJA is looking!

If, post-election, you're seeking ways of moving forward around educational justice in Worcester, the Worcester Educational Justice Alliance is looking for help!

There are openings on the Steering Committee at this time. In addition to the monthly General Assembly meetings, the Steering Committee members are expected to attend an additional monthly planning meeting and be a voting member. The Steering Committee includes:
a. 2 Educators: Educators who work for public schools in Worcester, MA.
b. 2 Parents/Guardians: Parents/Guardians of public school age children in Worcester, MA (Pre-K through 12th grade)
c. 2 Youth: Ideally students who are attending or eligible to attend secondary school in Worcester. This can include recent attendees of Worcester Schools however youth should not be over 20 years of age.
d. 2 Community Members: This can include residents and members of the Worcester Community who are not eligible under the above three categories.

The categories of educators, parents/guardians, and youth currently have openings. WEJA adds: "In our process for selecting new steering members, we will be considering trying to address many forms of diversity (including but not limited to: affiliated schools, race, age, gender, sexuality and more)."
