O'Connell

"a turnaround plan that will work"
"what we will do and need to do"
address the issue of student mobility
mastering of English from the day they're born
no poverty
no chaos
if Brian were a bit younger, he'd be quoting "Imagine" right now!

value added assessment, rather than MCAS exam
"if we could do this...those schools could excell"

what we can give is good principals and good leaders
"discourages good teachers and good leaders from working where they are needed"
teachers and principals will go elsewhere
"drive those people out of the schools where we most need them"

"I attended Union Hill School...that is not the Union Hill of today"
staffs there have that ability to get kids into great futures
enacted in haste "we will repent at leisure"

may not provide the needs they have
