Liveblogging School Committee: personnel

Here comes the personnel items:

• list of teachers under waivers
• list of teachers not licensed for their current position

Mr. O'Connell takes it up (we've got two similar items on the agenda). Waivers are customarily granted when a certified teacher cannot be found, and that teacher has to make "substantial progress" towards getting themselves certified as necessary. Falling under the "review and oversight" function of the School Committee. "Under no circumstances should we have someone who has neither the certification nor be making substantial progress towards the certification."
He's asking that it be done as quickly as possible, and he refers to the administration. He has also asked for recommendations from the Superintendent; the Mayor asks that those items be split, so we can get the information first, and recommendations later.
