As Worcester is an 80% reimbursement community, this is BIG news!
The other schools are:
Chandler Magnet (Windows)
May Street (Windows)
Lake View (Windows)
Jacob Hiatt (Boiler)
New Citizen Center (Boiler and Windows)
Note the meetings of the MSBA board are public meetings, and thus anyone may attend. Next Wednesday's meeting is 10am to noon at the MSBA at India Street Conference Room on the second floor of 40 Broad Street, Boston.
Yes, I am going. If I can work the wifi, yes, I will liveblog.

The Administration received a call today from the
Massachusetts School Building Authority to invite the district to attend
the MSBA Board of Directors on Wednesday, June 6 as the following
projects have been submitted for approval to enter the next stage of the
funding/project process:
Major School Renovation or Replacement
Nelson Place
Accelerated Repair Projects:
Chandler Magnet (Windows)
May Street (Windows)
Lake View (Windows)
Jacob Hiatt (Boiler)
New Citizen Center (Boiler and Windows)
The meeting is scheduled from 10am to noon at the MSBA at India Street Conference Room on the second floor of 40 Broad Street, Boston.
This
is a significant accomplishment for Worcester. This will represent the
first major school renovation or replacement project approved under the
new MSBA format and the first accelerated repair projects. We
certainly appreciate the due diligence of the MSBA to review our
Statement of Interest applications and the various site visits and phone
calls to advance these projects to the next stage. It is likely, once
we meet all of the MSBA requirements, that the accelerated repair
projects will occur next summer (2013). We will provide more
information about the process after the board meeting next week. We
look forward to working with the MSBA on completing these projects once
approved and will develop a next round for consideration this fall.
The
MSBA asked me to coordinate a list of anyone that is attending the
meeting so they can be prepared. Please let me know by email by noon on
Monday if you plan to attend the MSBA board meeting.
