comment that the community was not in favor of reconfiguring grade levels, and is very much in favor of maintaining the neighborhood schools
Biancheria: anticipated that we'd be talking about this on January 20
"I was surprised that we didn't have a total of the number of people who attended each meeting.."
Boone comments that we did a sign-in sheet
Biancheria there was a "request for community input"
Biancheria comments that "we didn't receive any additional feedback on what the community had to say"
(in other words, people wrote comments; what did they say? why do we not have this on the report we've been given? I should also note that the public comment period during those meetings has no record.)
Biancheria further asks that this be forwarded to parents, to CPPAC, and be put up online

ReplyDelete"we didn't receive any additional feedback on what the community had to say"
Parents were told that a "Ask Jeff" area would be added to the WPS website to facilitate that process and that additional feedback would be solicited from parents via another survey to be distributed in June 2010 (neither of these things happened as far as I could determine - and I've been looking for them). To imply that the community had nothing additional to say improperly passes responsibility for gathering that input from Dr. Mulqueen. He was also asked on several occasions at those meetings why notes were not being taken.
Sorry, Jenith, let me fix my notes. It was Miss Biancheria who said that we (meaning school committee) didn't get the rest of what the community had to say, and those of us who were at those meetings know there was more.
ReplyDeleteThere is a community input email on the website, but, come to think of it, I haven't heard anything about what is going on with that, either. I'll ask next meeting.
