Due to the reorganization pressures, both external and internal, there are many meetings in Worcester next week!
On Monday, we've got a double-header: at 6 pm, the Doherty quadrant reorganization meeting is at Doherty Memorial High School. Note that this meeting, as with the past two, is being presented as the middle/secondary meeting. The elementary school meetings are later. ('though I should probably also note that neither of the two meetings so far has in fact focused exclusively on secondary.)
To follow, once we jet across town, is a specially scheduled School Committee meeting at Tech at 7:30. We are having, I am told, Deputy Commissioner Karla Baehr (from the state Department of Ed) come to the meeting to answer questions regarding the use of federal turnaround funds, on which the School Committee will vote at that meeting. It's being held early in part because the teacher bid list goes out over April vacation, and what sort of turnover we see at Chandler Elementary and Union Hill may well depend on how that vote goes. (The agenda isn't up yet, but I imagine it will be later today.)
On Tuesday at 4pm, there is a Finance and Operations subcommittee. I'm told that we have a bid for the special ed bus contract, and we've got a quarterly report to work through as well. That's at the Durkin Administration Building.
At 6pm, the community reorg meeting at Union Hill is at Union Hill School. Please come if you are in any way connected to Union Hill.
On Wednesday at 6pm, the community reorg meeting is at Chandler Elementary. Again, if you have kids there, teach there, live in the neighborhood, please come.
On Thursday at 7pm, there is the regularly scheduled School Committee meeting at City Hall.
