A member of Stand for Children is addressing the School Committee regarding the grant percentage change, urging them to stand strong as the city attempts to raise the grant rate (from 1% to 3%) and on the Medicaid reimbursement.
"Education is a fundamental investment to the health and vitality."
The Mayor "using the word siphon...generate a backlash..our priorites are going to change significantly...that kind of language is being used...you're going to lose your case"
Do you find it curious that a video of the earlier portion of the June 4th hearing is NOT on the WPS website BUT a video of the 2nd portion is? What happened to that first portion? I really wanted to see Mayor Luke's interaction with the member of Stand for Children.

I made a call to Dr. Friel at the WPS School Committee asking why the video was not up on their website. She seemed surprised but said she would find out why it was not there. Several hours later it suddenly made an appearance....
ReplyDeleteIt is now available for all to see. Skip to about 50 minutes in to see the last part of the statement from the member from Stand for Children and then the abusive & rude manner that the Mayor uses in responding to a concerned parent.
