Chester appointed to the NAEP board

Just got word via email: Mitchell Chester, MA Commissioner of Education,  has been appointed by Secretary Duncan to the National Assessment Governing Board, which oversees the NAEP test.

Tech transition

This morning, we received the following from Superintendent Boone:

... I met with Dr. Harrity on Friday and we agreed to October 31, 2014 as her last day with WPS. I will name an interim/acting principal by October 17, 2014 to allow for a couple weeks of transition. As stated at the School Committee meeting, we have begun to revise the position description for WTHS and are working to develop the timeline for posting/advertising the position and the steps throughout that process.
